William Dewitt “Bill” Haigler

William “Bill” Dewitt Haigler, 80, of Prairievillie, LA, passed away on March 21, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1943, in Denham Springs, LA.

Bill was a strong man but a southern gentleman, always willing to help out his family and neighbors. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him. He worked as an electrician and refrigeration technician in multiple chemical plants, eventually becoming the maintenance supervisor for St. Thomas Moore Church and School. In his free time, Bill enjoyed reading, watching old western movies, rebuilding cars, and carpentry.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Langlois Haigler (Bobbie), his children Annette Simmons (Craig), Rick Haigler (Donna), Kristie Gough (Brian), grandchildren Jacob (Jessee), Tyler, Hannah (Brett), Kyle (Brooke), Natalie (Cameron), Brent (Stephanie), and Bryce, as well as great-grandchildren McKenzy, Rhett, Harper, Blair, and Beau.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother Lula (Haigler) Hobbs, father Hiram Donald Haigler, step-father Vin L. Hobbs, sisters Carol Haigler and Annette Haigler, brothers Donald Haigler and James Haigler.

Visitation will be held on March 27, 2024, at 10 am, followed by a service at 12 pm at Seale Funeral Home 1720 S. Range Denham Springs, LA. Burial at Memorial Cemetery in Denham Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
