Mark Anthony Bernard
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mark Anthony Bernard, on May 6, 2024. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend to many.
Mark Anthony Bernard was born on November 17, 1962 in Beckley, West Virginia. He grew up in Alexandria, LA and Denham Springs, LA and attended Denham Springs High School. After, high school, he pursued a career as a forklift mechanic and worked diligently to provide for his family. He was the owner of MB Service Company LLC providing service for forklifts and other equipment.
In 1981, Mark married his soulmate, Donna, and together they raised two children. In his free time, Mark enjoyed camping and the outdoors, listening to and playing music, watching old western movies, and researching family genealogy. He loved a good home cooked feast and you would always find him in the kitchen cooking something delicious.
Mark was a talented musician playing bass guitar alongside lifelong friends and family since he was a teenager. From Gospel to Heavy Metal, he always laid down such a solid foundation that it made playing any song easy for the rest of the band to follow. Even on songs they had never played, he would magically make the song sound like they had been practicing it.
He also had a passion for antiques and seemed to always be able to find unique and nostalgic things from history, musicians, and tools.
Mark really enjoyed history and appreciated old things which made his time doing Civil War reenacting some really enjoyable experiences. He traveled to many historic places to be on original battlefields and commemorate those battles through the hobby of Civil War reenacting with the 16th Louisiana infantry regiment.
Mark will be remembered for his kind heart and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Kemp Bernard, his daughter Jennifer Bernard Allen (Bryan), his grandchildren Remy Allen and Hunter Nicholas Bernard, sister Karen Murphy (Stephan) and brother Randy Bernard (Leanne), and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Olabell Bernard, brother Russell Bernard, and son Nicholas Alfred Kemp Bernard.
Please join us as we celebrate his life at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday May 10, 2024. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM with a memorial service starting at 3 PM.
