Aaron Bailey Ott, Jr
Aaron Bailey Ott Jr (Papa)
On Tuesday May 7th, 2024, Aaron courageously gained his angel wings after a long battle with IPF. For those of you who knew him our world will never shine quite as bright. He held many titles: husband, father, Papa, and friend however his most recently earned title was great grandfather to his precious Emery Rhian. Throughout the last few years while navigating his transplant journey he never once lost his wit, humor, determination, or his faith in our Lord. His ability to make others laugh and smile never waivered. He was always late for everything. Every. Single. Thing. Aaron was nicknamed Mr. Piddle, little buddy, shorty, and AB. His many hobbies throughout his life included fishing, hunting, taxidermy, going boat riding and to our camp, going to car shows (especially Cruisin the Coast), and his shared love to rescue any and all animals with his daughter. Jay and Aaron shared a special bond over LSU and “watching the fights” and he thought Jay was the best cook around. There isn’t enough room to list all the toys this man loved. Anything from classic cars, boats, motorcycles, mopeds, tractors…and you can guarantee he was going to run out of gas at some point along the way. Aaron was a graduate of Denham Springs High School class of 1971 and Delta School of Business for Drafting. He met the love of his life the summer of 1974 at Tastee Freeze. I think it was the 1972 Camaro he was driving that caught her eye. They married in 1979 and just last month celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary. Survived by his dedicated, compassionate, and unwavering wife Jolene Roberts Ott, daughter Lacey and husband Jay Procell, grandchildren Reagan Elizabeth Procell and Brady James Procell, and great-granddaughter Emery Rhian Procell. Sister Karen Thornton along with two nieces Shannon Taylor (Joey) and Brandie Hunt (Jason). Brother-in-law H.L. (Butch) Roberts and nieces and nephew Heather, Lianne, Elizabeth, Jason and Alaina. Numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones all held a special place in his heart. Preceded in death by his parents Aaron Bailey Ott Sr and Dorothy Allen Ott and brothers-in-law Cecil Thornton and Joey Roberts. Pallbearers are Jay and Brady Procell, John Paul Thomas, Jimmy Clark, Craig Stafford, and James Ellis Landry. Honorary Pallbearers are Joey Taylor, Jason Hunt, Dillon Jackson, Jimmy Chabina, and Pete Hooks. Also want to honor his “Breakfast crew” that ate every Saturday morning at Warehouse Restaurant. Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Range Ave Friday May 17th from 4-8pm, and resume Saturday May 18th at 9am. The funeral will begin at 11am. officiated by his cousin Rev. Pat Morgan. Aaron will be laid to rest at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers his wishes are to help the children within our community. You can do that by going to and make a donation to Launch Therapy Center in his name. If you would like to make a donation in person or by mail their address is 1310 S. Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726.
