Bennie Charles King, 78, a retired cable splicer with AT&T, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bennie was born on June 15, 1945, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Oscar Dwight King and Annie Bell Walters King. He grew up in the Baton Rouge/Brownsfield area and graduated from Baker High School. Bennie proudly served in the Army Reserve and was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denham Springs.

He was an active member of the Young at Heart group and had a passion for fishing and other outdoor activities. Bennie was known for his constant smile and had many friends who cherished his company and positivity.

Bennie is survived by his loving wife, Frances Oubre King; his sons, Jarred Lane King and Jason Paul King and his wife Kristen Brenden King; and his grandchild, Greyson Brenden King.

Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be said for Bennie.

Bennie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, joy, and dedication will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

    I was so very sorry to hear that Bennie had passed away. May your faith bring you consolation and your memories bring you peace and comfort.
    I am so sorry I had to return to New Orleans and won’t be with you at the Mass at Immaculate Conception.

    Frances, know that you have my deepest sympathy and condolences on the loss of Bennie. Although I will not be able to attend know that he and your entire family will be in my prayers. I I’ll always remember him as a happy person with a smile on his face.

    I remember Mr Bennie always being so happy and kind when we were growing up at St Isidore. Sorry for the loss of your husband and father.

    My prayers are with his family. I remember Bennie at Wesley Rays family reunions. Always had a smile. Francis my prayers go out to you and the boys. Love y’all and miss the great times we had at the reunions
