Larry James Tate
Larry James Tate passed at the age of 79 on June 16, 2024. He was born in Denham Springs, Louisiana on June 14, 1945 and was a life-long resident of the area. He attended Denham Springs High School as a class of 1964. He worked with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for 18 years, from 6/14/88 to 01/01/2006. Larry enjoyed playing men’s fast pitch softball, as well as coaching for the girl’s fastpitch team. He loved spending time with family and friends, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter Larsen Tate Stelly (Joseph Stelly), grandchildren Jourdan Duval, Savannah Duval Foil (Joshua Foil), Christian Stelly, and Bryce Stelly, great-grandchildren Bently, Bekham, Hudson, Weston, Berkleigh, Jennie, Brinleigh, and Kinleigh, sister Ginger Tate Chance (Michael Chance), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Susan Tate Friedman (married 07/02/1964), mother Lillian Brown Tate, father James Bolan Tate, sister Jeannie Adkins, and son Todd Tate.
