​Henry Daniel Ferguson, “Danny” also known as “Onery”, 89, born in Tallulah, Louisiana, May 25th, 1935 to Benjamin Otis and Fannie Belle Ferguson. Henry passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2024, in the home he built for him and his wife of 25 years, Marlene McGregor Ferguson. ​Henry is survived by his loving wife, Marlene McGregor Ferguson; sisters, Mary Patterson and Diane Guillory; children Shelby and Beverly Ferguson, Sheila and Donald Walker, Anita Carol Ferguson, and Henry Daniel Ferguson Jr. He was loved by his step-children, Alvin and Ellen Chappius, Wayne and Virginia Tuminello, Mary and Brad Hollis, and Joey and Amy Tuminello. Henry was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren. ​Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Otis and Fannie Belle Ferguson; sisters, Carol Cowart and Juanita Dixon; brothers, George Ferguson, Johnny Ferguson, Sidney Ferguson, and Quincy Ferguson. ​Special love and thanks to Henry’s granddaughter Ashley Tuminello for her amazing care throughout the end of his journey. ​Thank you to Audubon Hospice, especially nurses Sonya and Summer, and their amazing care team. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. ​In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Services of the Capitol Area alzbr.org or louisianafutureofnursing.org.     I remember his humor and joking about senility. He was brilliant and tougher than nails.

    My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family through this difficult time. I didn’t know him for long but I think he was a wonderful man and I’m thankful for Henry Jr. every day.
