Thomas Carl Cowsar passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Jonesboro, Louisiana.  He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on September 24, 1951.

Thomas “Tommy” was a longtime resident of Walker, Louisiana.  One of Tommy’s many talents was music. While he primarily played the trombone, he could play by ear any horn or woodwind.  Tommy spent a number of years as a Scoutmaster for Troop 158 and watched many members become Eagle Scouts.  He loved to cook, backpack, camp, and fish.

Tommy was an appliance repairman by trade and an inventor at heart.  He owned numerous businesses in his lifetime and finished his career in the seafood industry.

Tommy is survived by his two children, Robert Cowsar (Lauren) and Meredith Metzger (Jeff), two brothers, Donald Cowsar (Carol) and Harlon Cowsar (Mildred), and four grandchildren.  Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Meredith Cowsar and Margaret Josephine Ingalls and his sister, Margaret Waid.

A private service will be held for family.
