Dorothy “Faye” Cassels

Dorothy Faye Cassels, born in Walker and a resident of Denham Springs, passed away peacefully August 8, 2024 at the age of 89 surrounded by family. Faye worked for the State of Louisiana, Department of Labor for 15 years, Department of Health and Human Resources and the East Baton Rouge Welfare Office for 2 years. She loved to cook, vacation and dine out with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking trips to North Louisiana for family functions. Faye was a long-time member of Revival Temple Church. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children; Terry Cassels (Debbie), Karen Kennedy (Ronnie), Sharon Robbins (Bruce) and Aubrey Ray Cassels Jr. (Kay), grandchildren;  Denver Cassels (Christy), Blake Cassels (Tara), Tara Craig (Shelby), Amy Craig (Justin), Rhett Bencaz (Ericka Kaufman), Blayne Cassels (Hays), and Aubrey Ray Cassels III; step-grandchildren; Kristen Young (Drew), Drew Robbins (Tiffany), Maggie Vining (Kane), and Hallie Rosales (Steve). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Winfield and Ella Sutcliffe and her sisters; Merle Howze, Gladys Kinchen, Lillian Gill, Edna McGuire and Iris Achord.

Visitation will take place on Friday August 16, 2024 at Revival Temple in Walker from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM with service beginning at 11:00 AM and burial to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.

Pallbearers will be Blake Cassels, Denver Cassels, Rhett Bencaz, Drew Robbins, Justin Craig and Blayne Cassels.
