J.D. Arnold, age 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 9, 2024. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, having lunch with friends, talking to his bird Rosco, building houses and supervising many projects over the years. J.D. is survived by his daughter Emily Hoon; sons-in-law, Travis Hoon and Alvin Palmer; brothers, Charles Baker Arnold, Willie Arnold, Jerry Arnold, Douglas Arnold and David Arnold; cousin, Earl Posey; grandchildren, Travis Hoon Jr. (Sherrie), Chris Severio (Hillery), Russell Palmer (Sandra), Cynthia Fernbaugh (Doug), Crystal Curtin (Bradley) and Laura Mae Rice (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Brittany Law (Taylor), Paige Jacobs (Stephen), Reed Severio, Jadelyn Hoon, Haley Hoon, Kayla Kling (Dustin), Katy Galloway (Ricky), Kolbe Robillard, Olivia Curtin, Emmie Mae Rice, Erin Toomey (Ryan), Peyton Palmer, Cameron Palmer, Kelsi Brose (Justin), and Karson Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Blaze White, Braiden Craig, Sofia Law, Alice Kling, Ronan Galloway, Connor Bowlin, Jayde Bowlin, Carson Jacobs, Billi Brose, Karter Brose and Hayden Toomey (due in September). J.D. is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Arnold and first wife, Lola Clark; children, Johnny Ray Arnold (Debbie), Laura Mae Arnold and Penny Palmer; parents, John D and Florence Arnold; great-grandparents, Millard and Emily Arnold; brother, Buddy Arnold; sister, Gloria Langston; great-great-grandson, Kye Marshall Law.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 11206 Arnold Road, Denham Springs, LA 70726 on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. visitation resumes on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor, Mike Craig. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Travis Hoon Jr., Chris Severio, Russell Palmer, Cynthia Fernbaugh, Crystal Curtin and Laura Mae Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be Jadelyn and Haley Hoon.
