Richard Allen Peterson
Richard Allen Peterson, 84 of Walker La passed away peacefully on August 11 at St Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge La. Richard was born March 8, 1940 in Minneapolis Minnesota and spent most of his adult life living in Louisiana where he met his wife of over 50 years Carole Cline Peterson. They raised their family in Chalmette Louisiana before relocating to Walker after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Richard spent many years in the restaurant business working in prominent establishments throughout New Orleans including Pat O Brians, The Court of Two Sisters, The Gumbo Shop and Houlihan’s. After retiring from the restaurant field, he assisted many boat owners with their needs at Blue Dot Marine and Greenwell Springs Marine. While living in Chalmette he was an active member of the St Marks Men’s Club and The Gladiators Carnival Organization. He was also a honorary member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity (Theta Alpha – University of Southern Mississippi). He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed good wine and listening to live music.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carole, mother Sarah Peterson Tuenge, father Leroy Ray Tuenge, brother Jerry Biesiada, brother Mark Tuenge. He will be greatly missed by his three children Rhonda Meloche (Eddie), Rodney Marcade (Gina), and Richelle Peterson. He was blessed with six grandchildren Mindy Livaudais (Sarah), Tessica Meloche Jones (Nick), Cody Meloche (Monie), Tyler Peterson (Maria), Blake Marcade, Brady Marcade and three beautiful great grandchildren Makenna, Mallory and Leyna. He is also survived by his sisters Kay Littell (Mike) and Patty Wilson (David), sisters in law Kathy Voitier (Paul), Jacqui Condra (Clate), Linda Luquette (Bruce) and brothers in law Kim Fernandez (Karen), Lennie Cline (Gabrielle). He will be fondly remembered by many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be hosted by the family at a later date.
