Lloyd “Mervin” DeLaune unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 81. Mervin is survived by his wife of 57 wonderful years, Gloria Cambre DeLaune, daughters Cherish DeLaune Pendarvis (Robert) and Kenda DeLaune Sanders, granddaughter Mallorie Sanders Frelich (Jake), great-grandson Reece Frelich, sisters Sandra Gautreau and Marie Cannon, and countless beloved family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd W. and Mae Parker DeLaune, and his sister Frances Bercegeay. Mervin was proud of his 40+ year career as a welder, and often reminisced on his time in the shop with his coworkers who lovingly called him “Bleed”. He was known by those who loved him as the most generous person, who greatly adored his family, hunting, and raising goats. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, from 9-11 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in French Settlement, with a mass to follow and burial at St. Williams Cemetery in Port Vincent.
