Crawford Barr Lewis passed at the age of 79 at his home in Baker, Louisiana on August 25, 2024. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 1, 1944 to his parents Henry Crawford Lewis and Eva Mae Hammock. After graduating from Istrouma High School and attending LSU for 2 years, he worked as a pipefitter and planner/foreman for Ethyl Corporation for 21 years and then as an operator at Rhodia, Inc. until he retired. Crawford enjoyed spending his time hunting, riding ATVs and horses, reading, and delving into history as a World War II history buff. He also spent his time attending services at Fellowship Baptist Church and playing with two great grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Shelia Ann McCormick Lewis, daughters Robin Lewis James and husband Troy James of Central, and Stacy Lewis Arnold and husband Robert Arnold of Central, son Steven Crawford Lewis and wife Anne of Central, grandchildren Troy Lowe, David Arnold and wife Reagan, Victoria Lewis Latting and husband Christopher, Joshua Arnold and wife Angela, Steven Cody Lewis, Jacob James, Ashley Higginbotham and husband Carter, and Hannah James, great-grandchildren Wade Maxi Latting and Owen Courville Latting, and nephew Brandon Wesson.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry Crawford Lewis, mother Eva Mae Hammock, sister Linda Lewis Wesson, and nephew Robert Wesson.
Pallbearers will be Cody Lewis, Robert Arnold, David Arnold, Josh Arnold, Carter Higginbotham, and Christopher Latting. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob James, Troy Lowe, and Troy James.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital. A special thanks to Fellowship Baptist Church, especially the Grace Class for all their prayers and outpouring of love to our family.
There will be a visitation held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10am to 1pm with a service starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at Beech Ridge Cemetery in Denham Springs.

CB’s presence will be greatly missed in our Grace Sunday School Class. He always added much wisdom through comments in our class. We’re so sorry for y’all’s loss here but glad for heavens gain. We love you and will be praying for you all as you grieve his passing.
