Teryl Gene Gerace Sr., 70, passed on August 25, 2024 at his Baton Rouge home. He was born on September 23, 1953 in Bunkie, Louisiana to Sam and Rita Gerace. Teryl graduated from Melville High School and served in the National Guard. Teryl was a lifetime member of the IUOE Local 406 organization. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors with beekeeping, hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his spouse of 32 years Monica King Gerace, sons Gene Gerace and Travis Gerace, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Von Benezech, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by father Sam Gerace Jr., mother Rita Gerace, and brother-in-law Pat Benezech.

Pallbearers will be Pete Johnson, Jack Gardner, Kaleb Stelly, Laine Gerace, Carl Roy, and Connor Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Brannon Roy and Eli Gerace.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice, Fresenius Home Care, family, and numerous neighbors for their love, care, and support during this time.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 9am to 12pm with a funeral service starting at 12pm. Burial will follow at Live Oak Church Cemetery.

    Von and family, I was saddened to hear of Teryl’s passing. The last time I saw Teryl was at Aunt Sarah’s house for a family reunion. It was a happy time.
