John Michael (Mike) Burch passed away peacefully at his home Monday, August 26, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on February 10, 1950 to James Nelson Burch and Thelma L. Baker Burch. He was a resident of Denham Springs for over 60 years and a 1968 graduate of Denham Springs High School. He played on the Denham Springs High School football team (#44) and ran track. He loved music, singing, dancing and fishing. Mike was an excellent auto technician, having taught many his trade. He loved going to Antique car shows. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He was everyone’s Pops. He loved all veterans, honoring family and friends with a special room. He never met a stranger and always knew someone everywhere he went. He will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years JoAnn Rinaudo Burch, daughter Jessica L. Burch (fiancé Leon Lachney Jr.), stepdaughter Dana L. McAnelly-Helmes, stepson Micheal B. McAnelly (wife Mitzie Barton McAnelly), grandchildren Tristan Helmes, Kenzlie Helmes, Ryder McAnelly, Mason McAnelly, Berkley Hardy, Reagan Hardy, Leon Lachney III, Emmy Lachney, great grandson Grayson Helmes, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and lots of wonderful and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Thelma Burch, and brother Jim Burch.

Pallbearers: Lee Thomas Burch, Ronald Wheeler, Rick Wheeler, Edward Burch, Tristan Helmes, Keith Laurence, Jay Walker, Russell McIntyre. Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Gibbons, Adrian Gaskill, Griffin Landry, Kade Provost, Blaine Hester, Jordan Zuvich, Drake Desselle, Bobby DiNunzio, Ellis Davis.

The Family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care. A very special thanks to Stacey Browhow, Lisa Gauthier and Brandy Cahill for their excellent care. Donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Services will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs. Visitation will be on Tuesday September 3, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to start at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
