Joyce C. Bankston passed at the age of 85 at her Denham Springs home on August 29, 2024. She was born in Denham Springs, Louisiana on January 16, 1939 and was a graduate of Denham Springs High School. Joyce worked at Howard Brothers and dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She was a devout member of Amite Baptist Church as well as a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Percy Milton Bankston, sons Milton Ray Bankston and Randy Alan Bankston, daughter-in-laws Kim Bankston and Becky Bankston, grandchildren Lasca Y. Bankston, Lara R. Bankston, Shane M. I. Bankston, Maxim S. Bankston, and Denver A. Bankston, great-grandchildren Nash A. Bankston and Timothy C. Rodrigue Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Benjamin Courtney and Susie B. Courtney, sisters Laura McGregor and “B” Eddards, and brother Ben Courtney.
Pallbearers will be Shane Bankston, Max Bankston, Denver Bankston, Willie Courtney, Bradley Courtney, and Larry Courtney.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a funeral service to start at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Amite Baptist Church.
