Shan Michelle Fajoni Schlatre

March 3, 1974 – September 5, 2024

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, surrounded by her family, Shan Michelle Fajoni Schlatre left her earthly body and gained her angel wings. After fighting a fierce 11-year battle with Chronic Kidney Disease, she was called home to rest.

Shan loved her family and friends with her whole heart, but she especially loved being a MawMaw to her grandchildren! They were her whole life and she would exhaust herself making sure that her time spent with them would be memorable.

Shan was a native of Baton Rouge, LA, and a resident of Baker, LA.

She is survived by her Husband of 29 years, Jason Paul Schlatre; daughter Kimberly Fajoni Searcy (Patrick); Stepdaughters, Paige Schlatre Wilkins (Ryan) and  Savanna Schlatre Richardson (Flash); Grandchildren James Bryson Bruce, Bayleigh Grace Searcy,  Ashton Ryan Wilkins,  Lily Richardson, and Emery Richardson; Mother, Brenda Caston Zumo; Sister, Shain Fajoni Hunter; Brother-in-Law, T. Ryan Schlatre (Sissy); Nephews, TJ Hunter and J. Cole Schlatre; Nieces, Serena Hunter, Brittney Fajoni, Alisha Fajoni, and Karen Craft. As well as her great niece and nephew Tristen and McKenzie Hunter, as well as a host of cousins and friends.

Shan is also survived by her “Kidney Sister” Jenifer Bruce Burke, the Heaven Sent living donor. Jennifer donated a kidney to a woman she’d never met, giving her loved ones 8 more years to make memories with her. We are forever grateful!

Shan is proceeded in death by her Father, Michael Fajoni, her brother Shawn Fajoni, her Grandparents, Johnny Caston, Sr. & Lula Maye Caston, her Aunt Judy Kinchens, and Uncle Johnny Caston Jr., and her beloved fur babies, Snuggles, Sissy, and Sunny.

Funeral services will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on Saturday, September 14th. The viewing will be from 11:00-12:00 pm and services will begin at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers will be: Patrick Searcy, Bryson Bruce, TJ Hunter, Desmond Wilson, Jamarcus Brown, Johnny Caston III, Cole Schlatre, and David Caston, Jr.
