Alton “Poppy” Lynton Sullivan, Jr. passed away at the age of 67 on September 10, 2024, at his home in Denham Springs. He was born in Baton Rouge, La to his parents Alton Lynton Sullivan, Sr. and Grace Hill Sullivan. He was a graduate of Denham Springs High School before working as a welder, mechanic, and musician. Alton was a member of the Denham Springs Masonic Lodge #297 and enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren and playing music.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Connie Elizabeth Crow Sullivan, Mother Grace Hill Sullivan daughters Kristy Renee Barclay and Ashley Elizabeth Talbot, grandchildren Isabelle Renee Barclay, Avery Johnson, Aiden Oliphant, Adalyn Oliphant, and Elliott Rose Talbot, sisters Lynn Sullivan Futch and Theresa Sullivan Curtis, brother-in-law Danny Curtis and Olen J. Crow. Sisters-in-law Terri Crow McAdams, Jan Crow McAdams and Geneva “Tee” Crow. Nephews Chad Cressionnie, Landon Curtis, Jayden Curtis, Joshua Crow, Jacob Crow, Zachariah McAdams, and Caleb McAdams. Nieces Chesney McAdams Rice and Raelyn McAdams Smith.
He is preceded in death by his father Alton Lynton Sullivan, Sr., son Jason Adam Sullivan, brothers-in-law Richard Futch, Clifton McAdams, and Ralph McAdams, father-in-law Olen H. Crow, mother-in-law Elizabeth “Fan” Crow, paternal Grandfather Allen Sullivan, Paternal grandmother Nell Sullivan, maternal grandfather Percy Hill, maternal grandmother Stella Hill.
Pallbearers will be Harold Davidson, Olen J. Crow, John Paul Thomas, Dickie Boudreaux, James Smith, Ray Atkinson, Joshua Crow, Billy Harris. Honorary pallbearers Mickey Jones, Jack Jones, Billie Dykes, Danny Curtis and Bennie Saucier.
A special thanks to family, friends, and New Bethleham Baptist Church for their love and care during this time.
There will be visitation held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at New Bethleham Baptist Church, 37818 Reinninger Road, Denham Springs, LA 70606, from 1pm to 3pm with a service starting at 3pm. Burial at the New Bethleham Baptist Church Cemetery will follow.
