Allyson Cunningham

On Sunday, September 8, 2024 Allyson Cunningham was called home to her Lord after losing her battle with Lung cancer surrounded by family and friends. Allyson was born native to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Mary Parnell and Stanley Jack O’Brien. Survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Eugene Cunningham; daughter Shannon Marie Cunningham; son David Thomas Cunningham; daughter-in-law Dina Marie Cunningham; sister Shawn Elizabeth Hagen; grandchildren Tobie Elyse Cunningham, Mallory Elizabeth Saunier, Owen Thomas Cunningham, Bella Marie Cunningham, and Aubrey Evelyn Saunier. Allyson graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended Louisiana State University. While at . she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and an active member of the ZTA Alumni Association as General Advisor and House Corporation. In life, Allyson was a loving and giving wife, mother, sister and “Memaw” to her five grandchildren. She consistently gave back to her community participating as the chairman of the We Care Project sponsored by the St. James Episcopal Church for the last 8 years. She loved cooking, spending time with her family, decorating for the holidays, antiquing with Tommy and loving her cats. Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024. Visitation is 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Services to follow immediately after. She will be interred in the Columbarium at the church. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the We Care project at St. James Episcopal Church through their website.
