It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Cain Delatte, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Denham Springs, Louisiana on January 28th, 1936 to the late Dennis Wallace Cain and Ella Dee Cain. She passed away in Walker, Louisiana on September 17th, 2024.
Betty was a devoted wife to Drakeford Delatte for 45 years, a cherished mother to her children Bridgett Sibley, Brenda Payne(Richard), and Harold Delatte. Family friends who were more like children, Tessa and Darryl Alexander and Christy Hewett. She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren that her world revolved around. She enjoyed a good cross word puzzle book. She loved seeing and spending time her grandkids/great-grandkids doing what they loved. She made sure that no back was left unscratched. She told the best stories and had the ability to take you there with her whether those stories were true or not.

Maw Betty and Paw Drake took us as their son and daughter, they also were like grandparents to our children and grandchildren. We so enjoyed having them in our lives through the years. They were so loving and caring for others always. We will miss Maw Betty as we do PawDrake.

What more can I say about Ms. (Mawmaw) Betty…she was a firecracker and was her self whether she liked you or not, you knew ..I loved her personality and love that she had for Brenda and Richard and all those grands, greats and great-great grandchildren. They were her life and loves other than Me Drakeford. I will miss you very much Mawmaw Betty.

She may be little, but she stood the tallest as a mawmaw! She welcomed me with warmth and love. I felt so much a part of her family. Thank you, Aunt Betty. Prayers for peace and comfort to Brenda and family. Fly high, Aunt Betty!

She was the BEST grandma anyone could ask for. My best memories were times spent at her and Popaw’s house growing up. She made the best potato salad!
