David Brian Mayeux, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, David was one of seven sons. He retired after a career with the State of Louisiana but remained actively engaged in his community. His vibrant and social nature meant he never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether involved in philanthropy or just connecting with those around him, David found joy in helping others, serving on the board of the Jones S. Davis Foundation and participating in various charitable initiatives.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Evelyn Troxclair Mayeux, and his children: Jennifer Mayeux Chimento (Corey), Kimberly Mayeux Bryan (Barry), Jeffrey Brian Mayeux (Stephanie), and Samuel Todd Mayeux. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Everett Earl Castle Jr. and Derinda Castle Piper, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His four surviving brothers, Steve Mayeux (Joy), Doug Mayeux (Ingrid), Armand Mayeux (Kim), and Brad Mayeux (Michelle), sister-in-law, Janice Jennings Mayeux, along with many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, Warren J. Mayeux Sr., his mother, Genevieve Couvillion Mayeux, two brothers, Warren J. Mayeux Jr. and Glenn Richard Mayeux, and his grandson, Robert Mason Bryan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A private rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by visitation at 10:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with an intimate graveside service to follow at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs.
The Mayeux family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Clarity Hospice and St. Clare Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness during David’s final days. The comfort and compassion they showed will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org.

We are sending prayers for comfort, during this sad time. David was a wonderful neighbor and Evelyn continues to be, to our daughter, Ana. Obvious to the most casual observer, David was kind to everyone he met. And he never met a stranger!
We are blessed to have known him!
Prayers and love,

Steve, Doug, and the Mayeux Family,
Please know that Deborah and I are lifting the entire Mayeux family up in prayer at this time. We did not know David well, but all of you are in our thoughts during this difficult time. I am hoping we are able to see you Saturday to express our condolences personally.
