Darryl F. Curtis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the age of 78. A memorial visitation will be held at Live Oak Baptist Church on Friday, October 11, 2024 beginning at 11:00am. Pastor Johnny Morgan will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm. Darryl worked as a barber for 8 years, he was a Local operator of 406 for 10 years, and retired from Livingston Parish Sheriff Office with 22 years of service as a detective. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Pendarvis Curtis, daughter Cissy Brown and his (favorite) son-in-law Skeet, sons Rocky Curtis and wife Renee and Micky Curtis and wife Kelly; grandchildren Jake West and wife Lauren, Joshua West and wife Autumn, Cody Brown and wife Catherine, Pamela Curtis, Samantha Rosado and husband Tyler, and Kimberly Grimes, great-grandchildren Eliana West, Dawson West, Rosalie West, Lucy West, Mia Curtis and Kane Rosado. Darryl is also survived by his brother Bubbie Curtis and wife Nelda Curtis, niece Laurie Brian and close friends Jimmy Turner, Jerry Slaton, Ricky Chandler, Roy Allen and so many others. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Fay and Johnnie Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake West, Joshua West, Cody Brown, Skeet Brown, Rocky Curtis, Micky Curtis, Bubbie Curtis, and Tyler Rosado. His hobbies included running rabbit dogs, spending time with family and friends and dancing with his wife. Darryl was also a member of the Hilltop Hunting Club and the Satsuma Hunting Club. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his home health and Hospice of Amedisys, and David W. Fontenot and staff at Baton Rouge Clinic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Live Oak Baptist Church in his honor.
