Dennie Hoyt Dyer, aged 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Summerville, South Carolina, on October 13, 2024, at 4:00 PM, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Dennie spent the majority of his life in Denham Springs, Louisiana, where he graduated from Live Oak High School in Watson, Louisiana.

A passionate cook and avid fisherman, Dennie had a warm and loving heart, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. His favorite sayings were “be cool” and “chill,” reflecting his easy-going nature. He enjoyed a fulfilling career at Cooper T Smith, where he dedicated many years of his life until he retired.

Dennie is survived by his beloved wife, Milagro Campbell Dyer, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage, his mother-in-law Gisela Campbell, four daughters with their husbands, DeShay and Scottie Wright, DeAnna and Shane Hebert, Geitsy Campbell and Dexter Diaz, and Belkys Campbell, and his six cherished grandchildren: Anthony (AJ) and Berkley Hebert, Colton and Codi Wright, Santiago, and Andres Diaz. Dennie is also survived by his brother, Zalpha Harold Dyer, Jr., and Betty Freeman; his sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Calvin Chambers; nephews David Chambers (Kaci), Joshua and Brandee Dyer, and Haskell and April Dyer; great nieces, Marlow Dyer, Alexus Hutchinson, Raegan Chambers, and Kendall Chambers, great nephews, Isaac Dyer and named after Dennie, Dyer Wayne Chambers, and a very special friend of all of the family, Denise Anavalon, that showed constant love and support.

He was preceded in death by his father, Zalpha Harold Dyer, Sr.; his mother, Martha Lee Dyer; and his nephew, Todd Hutchinson. A special thanks to Lewis and Rafael Madrid for being a constant source of support.

A visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, October 25 from 12pm to 3pm with a memorial service starting at 3pm. Burial and a graveside service at Live Oak Church in Watson will follow.

Dennie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

    I’m lost for words, Denny was such a sweet guy always had a smile on his face and had a lot of friends here in watson, to his family I’m so sorry for your loss I’m keeping all in my prayers
