Eunice Daisy Stevens Wascom Thornhill, age 92 was welcomed into her eternal home October 21, 2024.
Eunice was born July 19, 1932 and grew up in Walker, LA. During her early years of marriage Eunice and her first husband, Gerald Wascom lived in several other states, however, she always longed to be back in south Louisiana. She was a Registered Nurse and over the years worked at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Sellers Baptist Home For Unwed Mothers, and Greenwell Springs Hospital before retiring to her home in Killian, LA on the Tickfaw River.
It was here that Eunice enjoyed reading her Bible and having coffee on the deck, watching her grandkids catch fish when they came to visit, and cheering on the LSU tigers. She will always be remembered for her hospitality and expertise in cooking and candy making, however, what she would want most to be remembered for was her love for Jesus!
She is survived by her sons, Mark Wascom (LaVonda) and Keith Wascom (Kim), grandchildren: Sarah Wascom, Douglas Wascom (Brandi), Melissa Varnado (Shane), Kirstin Cox (Jay), Hannah York (Travis), Danielle Wingert (Dustin), Tara Young, and Josef Endsley. Great-grandchildren: Piper Wascom, Seth, Sophia, and Scott Dagley, Alexis Wascom, Brinley and Landry Varnado, Abel and Noah Cox, Mallorie and Mckenzie Wingert, August, Abram, and Ellis Young.
Eunice was preceded in death by Gerald Wascom, Ray Thornhill, and Suzy Wascom.
A celebration of life service will be held November 23, 2024 at 9 am at Killian First Baptist Church.
