John Alexander Durnin Jr was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on December 6th, 1937 and passed on November 11th, 2024. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. John was also known as “Johnny”, “John Jr.”, and “PawPaw”. John graduated from Live Oak High School where he played basketball. Other hobbies throughout his life include weightlifting, archery, and raising cattle. He worked at Dow Chemical, Southern Valve, Valtek, Flowserve, and Curtiss Wright. He attended church at Live Oak Church. John is preceded in death by mother Lucille Pevey Durnin; father John Alexander Durnin Sr; sister Ward Ann Salem (KM); brother Joe Durnin; and daughters Laura, Johnna, and Jeanie Durnin. He is survived by wife Laurie Durnin; daughter Tracie Durnin Eisworth; sons John Alexander Durnin III (Catherine) and Fredrick Evans Durnin (Franke); nephews Michael Freeman and Jason and Joe Durnin; grandchildren Karrie (Nikki) Easterly, Jenny Davis (Drew), Kellye and John Robert Eisworth, Joshua, Emma, and Camille Durnin; and great-grandchildren Macy and Cayman York, Skylar and Adelyn Davis, and Jaime and Rileigh Eisworth. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs beginning at 1:00pm. Bro. Larry Badon will conduct funeral services at 1:30pm.
