Daisy Mae McDonald 1938-2024

Daisy Mae McDonald, a cherished 40 year resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away with her family by her side peacefully in Dallas, Texas on December 1, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born on February 6, 1938, in Livingston, Louisiana where she spent her early years with her 12 brothers and sisters. Her journey led her to Irving, Texas where she raised a family, worked for The Drawing Board Company before relocating to Shreveport in 1983. Daisy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother throughout her life.

Daisy is survived by sister Violet Ellis and brother Buster McDonald, sons Keith Bankston (grandchildren Kristie, Dustin and Jeanette, great-grandchildren Cameron, Tucker, Kayla and Donald and great-great-grandchildren McKenna, Audrey and Raelynn) and Kendall Bankston his wife Riz (grandchildren Derrick and great-grandchild Christopher) and daughters Rhonda Morgan her husband Scott (grandchildren Matthew and Alexis and great-grandchild Brendan) and Shirl Burris her husband Mark (grandchild Wrigley) Who will forever cherish her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at the New Beginnings Church, 9768 Florida Blvd, Walker, Louisiana on Monday December 9, 2024 at 10a-12p where family and friends are invited to honor her memory and joy she brought into their lives. Interment to follow at Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston, Louisiana. Daisy Mae McDonald will be remembered as a beacon of love and compassion, whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and community.
