Olga Escoto Ayello
December 28, 1929 – December 3, 2024
Our beautiful mother, Olga Ayello, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Beloved mother to Gloria Wilkins and husband, Bobby; Jesse Ayello and wife Karen; mother-in-law to Peggy Ayello grandmother to Dan, David, Laura, Jimmy, Katie, Brian; great grandmother to Olivia, Molly, Theo, Lila, and Leo; sister-in-law to Mary Escoto.
Olga was preceded in death by her son, Alfonso Ayello, parents, Jesse Escoto and Caroline Alvarez, her siblings Lenore Barajas and husband Joseph; Caroline Urbano and husband George; Peter Escoto and wife, Mary; Armandina Garcia and husband Frank; Julius Alvarez and wife Carol; Helen Ayello and husband Alfonso.
Olga dedicated her entire life to her three children Gloria, Al, and Jesse who she raised alone with the help of her brother, Julius, and mother, Caroline.
Family was especially important to her. She loved being an aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being a caretaker to family and friends in need and worked as a housekeeper at a hospital where she was constantly reprimanded for spending too much time consoling and providing advice to the patients.
Olga loved playing the slots machine, Bingo, poker, doing jigsaw puzzles and her real passion was cooking Mexican food for family and friends. She could form homemade tortillas with the small of her delicate hands, each tortillabeing the same weight without ever measuring them.
Olga lived a full life and was looking forward to going to be with God and His angels, especially her son Alfonso which she always referred to as “My Al.”
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a church service on Friday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3552 Morning Glory Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
