O'Neal, Anglyn

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, Anglyn “Angie” Marie Kersey O’Neal went with the Lord at Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Americus, Georgia, born to Thelma Lee Kersey and Fred McCardy Kersey on March 26, 1942. She graduated from Edison High School in 1960. After high school graduation, she worked several jobs including the Hallmark Department of DH Homes and manager of Circle K. Angie met the love of her life, Robert Ernie O’Neal, while working as a waitress. The two went on a mere three dates before they married on February 3, 1962, where Angie wore a fuchsia dress.  Angie and Ernie shared 62 wonderful years together, spending time with their large loving family, maintaining active membership at Liberty Christian Church in Colfax, LA, and serving as an Eastern Star in the Mason’s, and in their local Shriner club, El Karubah. Angie was an avid gardener, known for her rock garden and large floral plants. She enjoyed cooking meals for the people she loved, and some of her best work included her whipped cream pound cake, chicken and dumplings, pear and cheese salad, deviled eggs, and peach ice cream. Angie enjoyed spending time at the casino, playing cards with her family, and cuddling with her beloved cat Baby.

Angie O’Neal is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ernie O’Neal; four children and their spouses: Robert Ernie O’Neal, Jr. and Tracy O’Neal, Bobby Ray O’Neal and Stacy O’Neal, Loretta Jean “Jeannie” O’Neal Chustz and Randy Chustz, and Timothy Fred “Freddy” O’Neal and Janna O’Neal; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Brandon Lee O’Neal, Tori Renee O’Neal, Kaysea Shae O’Neal, Joshua Tate O’Neal and his wife Rachel O’Neal, Kayla Mckenzie Chustz-Duplessis and her husband Devin Duplessis, Christian Briana Chustz, Taylor Michael O’Neal and his wife Brittany O’Neal, and Anna Grace O’Neal; and five great-grandchildren: Adler O’Neal, Emberlyn O’Neal, Connor O’Neal, Nolan O’Neal, and Moses O’Neal.

Relatives and friend are invited to join the family on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Live Oak Baptist Church, 35603 Coxe Ave, Denham Springs, LA for a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the celebration of Angie O’Neal’s vibrant life at 12:00 PM. Flowers are appreciated. If donations are preferred, please send them to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Shreveport.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Ochsner Hospital on O’Neal, with a special appreciation to nurses Kaitlyn and Taylor for their love and care extended to Angie and her family during this time.

Oh my stars. Lord bless you and keep you. All the years we’ve shared together feeding people with Shriners and El Karubah at the circus and fair, all the dinners we’ve attended together and functions, all the moments weve spent in the times like these, are all each and every one so precious to me. I hold you dear in my heart, and know angels are rejoicing and she is in a much greater place to greet us soon .
My condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with you.
    Peace be with you❤️❤️❤️
