Our Daddy, Sam Vincent Pocorello, passed away December 14th2024 at the age of 71. He was born December 7th 1953 in Baton Rouge La to Charlie and Mary Marie Pocorello. He proudly served as a United States Marine. After his service he started his career as a Pipeliner for 40 years belonging to the Local 406 Operating Engineers. He dedicated his life to keeping this country going and taking care of his family. He was away from home weeks and months doing what he loved and doing what he would say what had to be done.
He retired from the Local 406 Operating Engineers. After retirement he enjoyed his time watching Fox News, Gunsmoke and M.A.S.H 4077. He always kept up with the pipeline world talking and visiting with his son-in-law (Toot) Darrell Wayne Reeves. He was always keeping up with daughters, Susan Elizabeth Reeves, and Samantha Pocorello, and Great Grandaughter, Ella Marie Reeves Smith the light of his life! He loved to cook sing laugh and play his guitar with family and friends. He was a friend to many.
Preceded in death his father, Charlie Pocorello and mother, Mary Marie Pocorello, granddaughter, Laney Danielle Reeves Smith, sister, Virginia Pocorello, Janice Pocorello and brother, Jo Pocorello.
He leaves behind daughters, Susan Elizabeth Reeves son-in-law, (Toot) Darrell Wayne Reeves, and Samantha Pocorello. Great granddaughter, Ella Marie Reeves Smith, granddaughter, Suzzane Smith. Sister, Angie Perritt, and one brother, Mike Pocorello and sister-in-law, Gerry Pocorello.
The will be a Graveside Service pending at the Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mt. Pleasant Road, Zachary, LA 70791. He will be honored by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard. Please check back for scheduled date and time of service.
