Vetra Underwood Wilson

Vetra Lee Underwood Wilson passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was one day short of 74, being born on December 29, 1950 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She was a life-long resident of Watson, graduating from Live Oak High School in 1968. Vetra Lee graduated from LSU receiving her Masters Plus 30 in education. She retired from the Livingston Parish School System after 30 years of service. She was a steadfast and established member of Live Oak Methodist Church. After retirement she loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, cheering on local sports teams, and serving the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Underwood, Sr. and mother, Julia Lee Underwood.

She is survived by her children: Jessica Ramagos Butler and husband, Luke, Mitchell Ramagos, Theresa Vallery, Justine Wilkes, and Tess Angeline; grandchildren: Olivia and Justin Duhon, Arabella Theriot, Marissa and Seth Doiga, and Austin Brown; brother, Calvin Underwood, Jr and wife, Kathy; sister, Jeannie Sillinger and husband, Bill; great-grandchildren: Oliver Brown and Arizona Doiga; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to her granddaughter, Olivia Duhon and cousin, Briana Devall, for the excellent home care they gave her the last year of her life.

Visitation will be held on January 4, 2025 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs at 3:00pm until the Service at 5:00pm, Officiated by Pastor Stephen Hebert.
