Marvin Donald Steinback
Marvin Donald Steinback, 66, of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at his home. He was a native of Long Beach, California, and a graduate of Lake Arthur High School in New Mexico. He went to NMSU where he studied Public History/Museum. He also studied American History at ENMU. Marvin served his country in the United States Marine Corps, then began serving his community in Law Enforcement in New Mexico for 20+ years. He then continued serving his community as a Park Ranger and Manager at Fairview Riverside State Park. He was also an Interpretive Ranger at Port Hudson State Park. Beyond his collegiate studies, he continued to study the Bible, Civil War History, WW II History, and he was a self-proclaimed Bird Nerd with his bird watching and was proud to be a geek!
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Ellen Steinback; daughter, Bridget Barela, son, Jeromie Steinback; grandchildren, Cade, John, Alex and Morgan Steinback, Nathan and Ireland Herring, David Whitmer, and Cheyenne Barela; great-granddaughter, Arabella Steinback; mother, Betty Steinback; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cyndi and Randy Buck, and Christy and Phil Weiler; stepdaughter, Rebekah Linder; stepson, Eric and Jennifer Mcgee; step grandchildren, Nathalie Linder, Paige McGee, and Easton McGee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Steinback; and brother, Jim Steinback.
