Dana Rae Jenkins Weaver, 87, born and raised in St. Landry, passed away Tuesday morning, January 14, 2025 in her home in Baton Rouge. She was a homemaker while her children grew up and later worked at Seale Funeral Home as the ‘coffee lady’, a job she loved. She was a member of Eden Baptist and then Walker Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her family, traveling, crafting and working at the church in whatever capacity was needed.

Dana Rae is survived by 4 children, Laura Claire Weaver Normand (Mark) of Baton Rouge, Linda Aileen Weaver of Dallas, Charles Ray Weaver, Jr (Rena) and Gregory Preston Weaver (Michele) both of Baton Rouge; 5 grandchildren, Shana Bova (Joe), Jacy Sims (Mike), Brandi Weaver, Rachel Weaver and Amanda Weaver; and 4 great-grandchildren, Michael Sims III, Jade Sims, Evan
Parsons and Elizabeth; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Weaver and Janet Weaver and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Ray Weaver, Sr.; parents, Annie Claire Bloodworth and Dana Branch Jenkins; 7 siblings, Helen Frey (John), Harry Jenkins (Mary Lou), Thomas Jenkins (Cecilia), Pat Smart (Irving), Irma Sonier (Robert), Elaine Dupuy (Lionel) and Charles Jenkins.

We are very grateful to the nurses, aides, chaplain, social worker and office staff of Compassus Hospice. A special thank you to Betty Dixon for the love and excellent care given.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, January 22, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Beechridge Cemetery, Denham Springs. Pallbearers will be sons, Chuck Weaver and Greg Weaver, nephews, Harry Jenkins, Jr, Rick Dupuy, and Dana T Jenkins, and grandson-in-law, Mike Sims, Jr.
