David George Easterly

David George Easterly, 74, of Denham Springs, LA, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was truly one of a kind. If you knew him then you know he’s quite literally the best man ever. On November 16th all of our lives changed, he was doing what he loved most—working with his hands, tackling projects around the house, and never hesitating to take on a challenge. He was a self-sufficient spirit, always preferring to do things himself, and it was that determination and passion that defined him. He was known throughout the community for his farming and agricultural expertise. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dawes and Beverly Easterly; brother, Paul Easterly; paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Ola Easterly; and maternal grandparents, George and Mary Jane Bridgers.

He is survived by his daughters, Dama Easterly and Nikki Easterly; grandchildren, Hunter and Skyler Engels, Bella Debetaz, and Macy and Cayman York; brothers, Dawes Kenneth Easterly and Bruce Redrick Easterly; sister, Jane Easterly Achord; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Live Oak Church, Watson, Friday, January 17, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce, Toby, Luke, and Dawson Easterly, Rudy Chavers, and BJ Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ross Bridgers, John Easterly, Wayne Wascom, Ryan Chavers, and Cayman York.
