Kelvin Cockerham, Jr.

April 5, 1950 – January 14, 2025

Kelvin Cockerham Jr. passed away at the age of 74 on January 14, 2025 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on April 5, 1950 in Denham Springs, Louisiana to his parents Kelvin Cockerham Sr. and Vera Mae Cockerham. He was co-owner of O’Bryant’s Auction and Kelinda’s Flea Market with his wife Linda, worked at Kleinpeter Dairy for over 20 years, and was a chief auctioneer. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, gambling, and being a jokester to make those around him laugh. Kelvin loved being around his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those privileged enough to have known and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Nina Mylinda “Linda” Cockerham, and parents Kelvin Cockerham Sr. and Vera Mae Cockerham.

He is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law April and Blackie Rushing, Angela and Mike Law, Amy Lucas, and Ashleigh and Jimmy Dickerson; grandchildren, Blaine, Victoria, Brianna, Al, Christian, Trip, Emma, and Axle; sister Bobbi Lynn Cockerham, brother Elton Paul Cockerham, girlfriend Sally Salvant, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

There will be a wake at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana held on Saturday, January 18 from 5pm to 8pm. Visitation will resume on Sunday, January 19 from 11am to 2pm with funeral services starting at 2pm led by his life-long friend, confidant, and pastor Charles Ray Smith. Burial will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
