January 23, 2025by SealeUser0

Bobby Ray Daniel, 84, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Denham Springs, LA, Bobby leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and a reputation as a fierce competitor. His quick wit was as sharp as his pool cue, and he never missed an opportunity to bring joy to those around him—whether it was through a well-timed joke, a game of chess, or an impromptu pool match, where he was usually the one winning.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Mamie Pendarvis Daniel, who stood by his side through it all with love, patience, and the occasional eye roll when he pulled out one of his classic zingers. He is also survived by his sister, Margo Pendarvis; his children, LaRae Daniel Hufstetler (James) and Cliff Daniel (Ginger); his grandchildren, LaLaine Diaz (Abraham), Ella Daniel, Noah Daniel, and Preston Hufstetler; and his great-grandchildren, Adrian Diaz and Isabella Diaz. His family will forever remember his infectious laughter, the sparkle in his eye when he had a good comeback ready, and the way he made even the smallest moments feel special.

A proud Navy veteran, Bobby served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, he became a valued member of Local 198 and worked for the City of Baton Rouge, from which he retired after many years of loyal service.

Bobby’s true passion was always in the game—whether it was pool, chess, or any challenge that allowed him to show off his strategic mind. He taught us all to laugh often, never take ourselves too seriously—except when it came to winning, of course.

If you wish to truly honor Bobby, challenge someone to a game of pool or chess. Remember—if you lose, it was probably by design.

Bobby’s love, humor, and spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. While he may have put down his pool cue for the last time, his legacy of laughter, wit, and joy will stay with us always. Rest in peace—you will forever be the champion in our hearts.
