Martin Richard Blacklock, Sr. passed away at the age of 85 years young on February 3, 2025. A resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and a retiree from Formosa plastics. Martin was a proud Marine veteran, who loved God, country, family, and fishing; not always in that order before 2008, which is when he gave his life to Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to sharing the love and message of the word of God. Martin was respected and admired as a skilled fisherman. It is said that he could find and catch a bass anywhere, he was the best. Everyone called him to find out where the fish were biting! He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather/great grandfather. He was a loyal friend to many, however, only would speak a few minutes when he called you to say hello and check in. He loved getting together with his Istrouma classmates at Dukes/Rudy’s restaurant in Denham Springs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Maust; his four children, Linda Stockton (Stacy), Doug Blacklock (Deana), Martin Blacklock, Jr., Tisha Partin, and their mother, Marie Blacklock; six grandchildren, Codi Blacklock, Jessica Blacklock, Chris Blacklock, Zachary Blacklock, Brian Marchand, and Samantha Mayers; seven great grandchildren; brother, Jack Blacklock (Virginia “Tootie”); and sister, Laverne Barrick.
He is preceded in death by his son, Scott Wayne Blacklock; parents, James and Amy Blacklock; and sister, Betty Waldrop.
Special thanks to Jay and Jayson for their help, friendship and pies on Martins journey! The family wishes to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion for Martin and Kathy!

I am heartbroken to hear of Martin’s passing. Gosh we actually grew up on Bartlett St. together and have been trusting friends since. Some wonderful memories. He was a patriot, a proud American and a follower and believer in Jesus Christ. So long old friend until we meet again.
