Ida Mae Fontenot Lambert Rivere

Ida Mae Fontenot Lambert Rivere, died peacefully at home in the presence of her husband and daughter after a lengthy battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was born in French Settlement, LA to Erroll E. and Nelda Watts Fontenot. She was a retired educator with the Livingston Parish School System. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the French Settlement Historical Society. She enjoyed Mardi Gras, going places and loved to dance.

She is survived by her husband, Autry Rivere Sr.; daughters, Sondra Aydell (Robby) and Denise Rivere (Ronnie); son, Autry Rivere Jr.; granddaughters, Jenise Hontiveros (Ricardo) and Celeste Aydell (Dale); grandson, Dwight Aaron Foster; great-granddaughter, Emaleth Hontiveros; and great-grandson, Harris D Williams arriving in March. Also survived by her brother, Gerald Fontenot; and sister, Nonnie Latiolais (Harry).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erroll E. and Nelda Fontenot; 1st husband, Vernance Lambert Sr.; and sons, Vernance Lambert Jr. and Barry Rivere.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Foster, Ricardo Hontiveros, Dale Williams, Paul Rivere, Julius LeBlanc, and Wayne Aucoin.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, Friday, February 7, from 9:30 am until Mass at 11:30 am, conducted by Father Taylor Sanford.
