Iris Lee Lauzervich

Iris Lee Lauzervich passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025 while in residence at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs, LA. Iris was born in Maurepas, LA on December 14, 1935, the youngest daughter of Peter and Sydonia (née Hoover) Lauzervich. She was a graduate of Maurepas High School, and lived and worked in New Orleans as a dental assistant until retirement. After returning to Maurepas, Iris spent several years as a Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Dispatcher under then Sheriff Odom Graves. She also worked for years with the Council on Aging distributing meals at the Maurepas Community Center to seniors. While never married, “Ilee” was a treasured member of her family, contributing to many Christmas dinners and celebrations. She made a wonderful gumbo and the absolute best bread and oyster dressing of any cook. Iris always enjoyed having her family around. She loved and enjoyed her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her nieces, Joane Vampran Matherne (Jerry D. Matherne), Donnia Hill Stout (William Stout), Cynthia Felder Fayard, and one nephew, Kenneth Vampran (Betty) and their children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Sydonia Lauzervich, her sisters, Ella Mae Vampran, Lois Lauzervich Boysen, Rita Lauzervich Felder, and Doris Lauzervich Hill, and one brother, Peter Lauzervich, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Whitehall (Maurepas). Mass will be officiated by Father Taylor at 11 am with internment immediately to follow in the Whitehall Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jerry Matherne, Roy St. Pierre, Sr., Mark Vampran, Roy St. Pierre, Jr., Calvin C. Fayard, III, and Travis Vampran.
