Sherri Lynn (Forbes) King of Walker, LA passed away peacefully at home surrounded with family on February 19, 2025. Sherri was 76 years old after her decade long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. She was born on November 3, 1948 to James C. and Joyce Covington Forbes in Baton Rouge. Despite her progressing disease, she spent the last years of her life in good spirits while doting on her three great-grandsons.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 55 years, Malcombe Douglas King; parents, James C. and Joyce Covington Forbes; grandson, Jarrett Cain; siblings, Cindy Middleton and Ronnie Forbes.
She is survived by her son, D.L. King (Angela); daughter, Crystal King Cain (Brent); granddaughters, Chelsea King, Calyn Cain Foster (Kirk), Carly Cain Giacone (Nick), and Cara Cain Elmore (Mason); great-grandsons, Wyatt Foster, Tate Foster, and Eli King; siblings, Kandy Billings, Jim Forbes, and Randy Forbes.
Our family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Miletello and his office and to the St. Joseph’s Hospice staff- Sheryl, Karly, Shelly, Sherri, and Jaci. A private burial will be held at Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Pine Grove, LA
