In Loving Memory of Paul “Gary” Donnell
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gary Donnell, who was called to his heavenly home on March 17th, at the age of 73. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born on February 1st, 1952, in Monroe, LA, as a twin to Pam Boyer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. For over 30 years, Gary owned a successful construction business, where he worked with his hands to build and create both residential homes and renovations to commercial spaces for clients, friends, and family. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his loved ones.
Gary was baptized at Stevendale Baptist Church at an early age and remained committed to his faith throughout his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his family, fishing, renovating homes, listening to music, and attending live shows—relishing the memories of his hippie days.
Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Esther Carter Donnell, their children Amanda Theriot (Ian), Sarah Locascio (John), and Paul Donnell (Kate), his grandchildren Brinley, Rylen, and Emery, his brother Jeff Donnell (Kathy) of Tulsa, OK, his twin sister Pamela Boyer of Baton Rouge, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest C. Donnell Sr. and Alice Laborde Donnell, his parents, Ernest C. Donnell and Marvel Bruce Donnell, his brother Romney Donnell, and his daughter Adrianne “Annie” Donnell.
A visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, March 21st, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Green Oaks Cemetery in Baton Rouge after the service. Pastor John Locascio will officiate.
Pallbearers will be John Paul Locascio, Ian Theriot, Darren Kyzar, Derrek Kyzar, Ricky Donnell, and Johnny Manela. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Donnell, Mike Donnell, and Al Manela.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Jamie Westbrook and St. Joseph Hospice, Alicia Donnell Hamilton, and all the friends and family who supported us during this difficult time.
“For whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
