Martha “Betty” Elizabeth Fuqua Ott passed at the age of 84 on March 18, 2025. She was born in Columbia, Louisiana on February 19, 1941 to her parents Calvin Z. Fuqua and Mary A. Grimmett. After moving to the area in 1964, she taught at Denham Springs Junior High for over 20 years before retiring, and then went back to work to teach at Live Oak Elementary in Watson. She loved to travel and adored spending time with her grandchildren who were truly the light of her life. Martha will be deeply missed by her family, as well as anyone that had the privilege to know and love her.
She is survived by her daughters Melissa Lara Ott Brinkman (Kyle) and Amanda Elizabeth Ott Middleton (Marshall), and grandchildren Devyn Kyle Brinkman, Laryn Ashleigh Brinkman, Makayla Mae Middleton, and Myles Marshall Middleton.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Larry Dale Ott, son-in-law Kyle Brinkman, and parents Calvin Z. Fuqua and Mary A. Grimmett.
The family would like to thank Community Healthcare of Texas hospice and caregiver Carie Hazard for their exceptional love and care during this time.
There will be a visitation held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9am to 11am with a funeral service starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Judson Baptist Cemetery.

What a beautiful soul yall were blessed with having in your lives. She’s where she deserves to be with her maker in a heavenly bliss. I am wrapping my arms around you all during your time of loss and always. It was my pleasure getting to spend some with this precious lady. I took great joy in her wonderful smile and stories.
