Raymond Michael Sparacino
September 14, 1944 – March 20, 2025
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Raymond Michael Sparacino, age 80, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
A native of Baton Rouge, Ray grew up there and graduated from Istrouma High School. Following high school, he bravely enlisted in the United States Army, where he served with honor. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars, and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) certification.
After his military service, Ray met and married Nita Evans, the love of his life. Together, they built a life in Denham Springs, Louisiana, where they owned and operated Sew and Vac, a small business dedicated to serving their community. While running their business, they also raised their two beloved children.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Monica Sparacino Dugas; his son, Bryan P. Sparacino, and wife, Darrah Johnson Sparacino; his sisters, Doris Graham and Rita Sparacino; and his brother, Paul Sparacino. He was a proud grandfather to Hayden and Keston Dugas, Charly Joe, Boots, and Baylor Sparacino. He also leaves behind many extended family members and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nita Evans Sparacino; his parents, Keller and Mary Sparacino; and his brother, A.J. Sparacino.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at First United Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Brother Billy Johnson, with special speakers Brother Colin McClendon and Brother Bobby Graham.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Dugas, Keston Dugas, Chad Graham, Jay Cox, Creed Elledge, and Daryl Honeycutt.
Ray will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.
His legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family and community will be forever cherished by those who knew him.

So sorry to hear of Bro. Ray’s passing. He was such a wonderful person. He was a very intelligent, soft spoken man that loved God, family, and church. He ran his business with hard work and integrity. He always kept my father in law’s upholstery machines in top shape. Listening to he and Bro. Ivan bantering back and forth always made me smile. In all the years I knew him, I don’t know that I ever heard an unkind word from him. A true Christian gentleman. Godspeed.
