Betty Sue Lormand Stanley, 79, was at home surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully went to be with the Lord Monday, March 24, 2025. A Vinton native, she spent the last 18 years in Watson, sharing a life and a home with daughter Cheryl and her family. Mom was a fun loving, generous, independent soul full of moxie, who cherished her family. She loved going to bingo, playing the slots and shopping for her blue glass and coin collections.
In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, painting crafts that would adorn her ever-changing holiday tree. She loved growing her Thomas Kincade collection, watching her morning soaps (that Jeri got her hooked on), NASCAR and working on her family tree. All the while sipping on her diet cherry Dr Pepper and snacking on shoe strings and milk duds with her 4 legged companion, Juice.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the memories she created and the love she shared, and she will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survived by daughters Terry Conrad (Brad), Karen Conrad (Alton) and Cheryl Amoroso (Brian), grandchildren Matthew and William Seale; Ashleigh, Devan, Jesse Gisiner and Jacob Smith; Nathan, Collin and Dylan Sasso; Brandon, Amber Gish and Cody Amoroso; brothers Donald, Billy and Carl Lormand; bonus daughter Sandy Gensiak; and 23 ½ great grandchildren. She joins her family at rest, parents Daniel and Pete Lormand, daughter Jeri Sasso, granddaughter Karmin Smith and brother Bobby Lormand Sr.
She requested a memorial with food, photos and loved ones sharing stories to be held at a later date.
