Margit “Oma” Nash

Margit “Oma” Annemarie Bernhart Nash, 76, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She retired from CVS (Eckerd Drugs) after 45 years as a retail/cosmetician/loss prevention employee. She was born in Ludwigsburg, Germany, on April 21, 1948, and moved to the United States in 1968, where she raised three children in Denham Springs. She is preceded in death by her parents Franz and Maria Bernhart.  She is survived by her brother, Helmut (Gitta), his daughters Eveline, Silke, and his granddaughters, Vivien and Wulla; his great-grandson Lukas; her sister Ulla (Uwe), her sons Florien (Yasi) and Simon.  She is also survived by her children, Michael Nash Jr, Michelle Nash, and Anita Nash Hand. She lived her life in this country for her five grandchildren, Dovie (Sam), Michael “Mikey”, Cade (Makayla), Paris (Drew), and Macie, as well as her great-grandchildren Dexter, Zane, Charlotte, Noel, Anderson, and Miles.  She had countless happy memories and traditions with them that they will be able to share with their children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed going to plant and garden shows, as well as going to any place that was handing out food samples.  Oma loved her sweets, especially thin Hershey’s chocolate candy bars. She loved trying new recipes from cooking magazines and was known for making the best rum cake ever.

She was everyone’s Oma, a friend, a listening ear, or whatever you needed her to be in the moment.  She lived each day on a spiritual level, with God as her higher power.  Her will and spirit will live on through all who knew her. A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., with some blessings shared afterward at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726.  The family would like to thank all the staff of St. James Hospice/Carpenter House for their compassionate care towards her and the family throughout her last days.
