Carmel Catholic Church and Mission Chapel in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Gordon passed away peacefully at the age of 86 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Gordon cultivated diverse interests, including photography, through which he documented weddings, the lives of his colleagues, and the beauty of the natural world until the loss of his equipment in the flood of 2016. He also found great pleasure in stamp collecting and was an active member of the American Philatelic Society.
He is survived by his three first cousins and a half-brother. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Edward McClure, Sr.
