Wendy Taylor Folmar

Wendy Taylor Folmar, a beacon of love and laughter, received her eternal reward on April 18th, 2025, at the age of 48, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 1977, in Houma, Louisiana, Wendy embodied the spirit of her birth date with an extraordinarily kind, giving, and loving heart. Wendy was a devoted daughter, loving sister, and an adoring mother who filled her life with immeasurable love and warmth for her family and loved ones.
Wendy is survived by her two daughters, Haylee Folmar and Maycee Folmar, who were the light of her life and her greatest pride. She was a loving daughter to her mother, Felicia Meche, and stepfather, Mike Meche, and a beloved sister to Cathy Fousse, husband Jim, Sandy Taylor, husband Ryan, as well as her numerous step-siblings. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Colin Duke, fiancée Olivia, Chase Fousse, Kylee Fousse, Rhett Taylor, Sawyer Taylor, and Naomi Taylor. Wendy also held a special place in her heart for her former husband and father of her children, Steve Folmar, and for her future son-in-love, Charlie Williams. Wendy was preceded in death by her cherished father, Mark and step-mother Betty Taylor, her grandparents Evans and Flavia Thibodaux, Ruth Harwick, and Elmer Taylor, and her uncles, Dale and Eric Taylor.
Wendy was a proud graduate of H.L. Bourgeois High School in 1995. She worked tirelessly in her career, serving as Assistant Vice President and Central Branch Manager at Bank of Zachary since 2015. Wendy had a passion for reading, dancing, concerts, and spending quality time with her family. She loved road trips, especially to Oklahoma to visit her family. She loved the beach and the mountains. Wendy had a kind, giving heart, and was known for her infectious laugh, which could transform from a shy giggle to a full belly laugh at the drop of a dime. Her silly sense of humor and sarcastic streak brought joy to everyone around her.
Wendy was known for her immense love for her family and could often be heard speaking of their accomplishments with great pride. Whether it was her daughters excelling in their education and careers or her nieces and nephews thriving in academics and sports, Wendy cherished every moment of their growth and success. One of Wendy’s greatest joys in life was seeing her daughters live out the dreams she worked so hard to make a reality.
As a family, we take comfort in a quote that she recently shared regarding her father’s passing: “Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.” Wendy’s love for her family was boundless, and she will always be remembered for it. In our hearts, she will always be with us, “to the moon and back.”
Relatives and friends are invited to join Wendy’s family at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Thursday, April 24, 2025 for a visitation starting at 9:00 AM until the service celebrating her life at 12:00 PM.
