Cora Lea Tate Carpenter

Cora Lea Tate Carpenter, 94, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025. Cora worked for many years as the “lunchroom lady” with Livingston Parish schools. She was a member of the Lady Doves. In her spare time she always loved to be fishing, hunting, gardening, shopping at Walmart and most of all, being with her family and friends. Cora was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and she will continue to be loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carpenter; parents, Hampton Wade Tate and Marie A Tate; brothers, Robert, Russell, and Raymond Tate; two grandchildren, Mary Kilgore and Woody McLin; and great-grandson, Max McLin.

She is survived by her children, Adele McLin, Ruth Jones, Anson Blount and Alton Blount; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 16 great great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, April 23, from 9 a.m. until service at 12 p.m., officiated by Rev. Willis Easley. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
