Karen Sue Yarborough Lewis

Karen “KK” Sue Yarborough Lewis passed at the age of 63 on April 19, 2025. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to her parents Rulon Griffith and Betty Yarborough on December 12, 1961. She went to school at Central Private High School and was retired from the Department of Natural Resources as a contracts and grants manager. Karen was a breast cancer survivor, an avid member of Bethel Methodist Church and had a passion for music, concerts, vinyl records, and shopping. She loved nothing more than being a grandmother and spending her time with family. She never met a stranger and loved to meet new people. She will be deeply missed by the many people who had the privilege to know and love her.

She is survived by her father Rulon Yarborough, son Griff Lewis, daughter-in-law Amanda Lewis, grandchildren Aubrey Herrick and Garrison Lewis, sister Lori Chauvin (Glen Hendrick), brothers Steve Yarborough and Marlon Yarborough (Dawn), nieces Kelly Chauvin (Chuck Acosta), Haley Chauvin, Kayla Yarborough, and Heather Hendrick, great-nieces Karlee Acosta and Skyler Acosta, nephews BJ Chauvin, Kyle Yarborough, Austin Yarborough, Brennan Yarborough, Justin Newsom, and David Vest, and great-nephews Conner Robinson, Emry Hendrick, and Slade Yarborough.

She is preceded in death by her mother Betty Blades Yarborough and nephew Benjamin Yarborough.

A special thanks for all those who showed their love and care during this time, especially the more difficult moments.

There will be a visitation held at Bethel Methodist Church on Friday, April 25 from 9am to 11am with a funeral service starting at 11am. Burial will follow at the Bethel Methodist Church cemetery.
