Kenneth Wayne Sartin, Sr.

July 6, 1958 – April 15, 2025

Kenneth Wayne Sartin, Sr., a devoted family man and proud Louisianan, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on July 6, 1958, in Baton Rouge, LA, Ken was a 1977 graduate of Belaire High School. He went on to build a respected career at Turner Industries, where he started as a pipe fitter and ended as Manager and Superintendent of Turnarounds. Ken was known for his strong work ethic and leadership.

Ken had a passion for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, or working. He was also a loyal fan of anything LSU — Geaux Tigers!

He is survived by his loving children: daughter and son-in-law, Sheena and Marcus Prelow; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Hermae Sartin; and his grandchildren: Julius Sartin, Malique Prelow, Skylar Prelow, Braiden Sartin, Jazmine Sartin, Gabriel Sartin, Makai Prelow, and Rocky Sartin. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Larry Hidalgo; nieces, Shanna Sartin Sizemore and Kayleigh Hidalgo Reid; nephew, Douglas Guidroz Jr.; and long-time friend, Mike Jones.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kenneth Wayne Sartin, Jr.; his parents, Major and Carolyn Sartin; brothers, Alan Jay and Bobby Lane Sartin; aunts, Jackie and Pat Sartin; and uncle Gerald Sartin.

A heartfelt thank you to Angelique Beasley for her kindness and friendship in Ken’s final days.

Services and burial will be held at Seale Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate the life of a man who gave so much love, strength, and laughter to those around him.
