Greta Marie (Aymond) Gonzales

Greta Marie Aymond Gonzales passed away peacefully April 24, 2025. She was 85 years old, a native Bunkie, LA.

Greta was born January 27, 1940 to Emob and Lucille Aymond. She married Fredrick Andrew Gonzales August 31, 1957 and together they had three children; Vickie, Stephen, and Mark.

Greta worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a computer network administrator for many years. Upon her retirement, she immediately turned her attention to a goal she’d held most dear – that of becoming a full-time Bible educator. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she loved to talk to people about the Bible’s promises for the future, and it was something that gave her great joy. Her regular, cheerful presence in the Port Allen community, accompanied by her husband Fred, was well known and respected. In their later years Greta and Fred moved to Ethel, LA where they happily resided with their son Mark and daughter-in-law Annette.

Greta was a member of the Zachary Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She excelled in all she set out to do, whether it was preparing an outstanding meal, sewing her daughter’s wedding dress, or teaching Bible truths to others. She loved all of her family dearly, especially her husband Fred, her “BeeBee’”.

Greta is survived by Fred Gonzales, her devoted husband of 67 years, their daughter Vickie Robicheaux (husband Frederick, Jr.), sons Stephen (wife Cindy) and Mark (wife Annette); sister Wanda Jozwiak; special niece Crystal Bonadona; grandchildren Tara Fonseca, Frederick III “Tre” Robicheaux (wife Jillian), Angela (Brooke) Serpas (husband Tommy), and Jillian Herrera (husband George); plus numerous great-grandchildren and other beloved family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents Emob and Lucille Aymond, and brother Roy Aymond.

A memorial service will be held at the Zachary Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday June 21 at 11:00am in Slaughter, LA.

The memorial service will also be available via Zoom; meeting details will be provided privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the The Carpenter House Hospice in Baton Rouge.

The family wishes to express its appreciation for the compassionate and loving care provided by the staff at The Carpenter House Hospice, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge and Lane Hospital in Zachary.

To all family members: we don’t ‘forget the past’; but we must ‘remember’ the future – Rev 21:3,4
    Greta’s hope, and ours.
    Love, Cindy
