Michael David Hidalgo, 66, died peacefully in his sleep on May 4th, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born Feb 16, 1959, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Michael was a compassionate and generous man with a great sense of humor and a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing and golf.
He was a highly skilled and meticulous finish carpenter, drywaller, and painter. Michael was exceptional with his hands and could repair or improve just about anything – cars, boats, surfboards, guitars, fishing gear – to be just like new. His passion and enthusiasm were infectious, and his extremely sharp memory made it a continual joy to relive life’s best moments, jokes, and stories with him. He will be missed terribly.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Edward Hidalgo (H.), his 2nd father, James Coburn (C.), and his brother, Terrence C. He is survived by his mother Anneliese C., his siblings and their spouses: Eugene and Lili H., Teresa and Dale Poucher, Paul and Carrie C., John and Robin C., Jimmy (Jr.) and Kim C., Debbie and Leb Upchurch, Linda C. Benz; Colleen (Terry’s widow) and Bill Wixson, his nieces and nephews: Austin H., Spencer H., Jonathan Poucher, Jayson Poucher, John Simmang, Carson C., Patrick C., Brock C., Reece C., Ethan C., Katie Martin, Maddison C., Shannon Woods, Katherine Barrs, Taylor Upchurch, Jessica Bens, Aila Benz, Aaron C., Derrick C., Blake C., and a huge, growing extended family.
